We build and repair homes almost
exclusively with volunteer labor.
Whether you’re a skilled craftsperson or you've never picked up a hammer, building with Habitat is a life-changing experience both for you and our homeowners. Sponsor a project, bring a group, or come on your own. We can’t do it without you.
Our build days are typically Wednesdays and Saturdays although special arrangements can be made for groups in advance. Please call or email our Construction Manager, Sarah Grady, at (828) 268-9545 or email@example.com to sign up.
Before coming out to help, please watch our Job Site Safety Video. This video helps educate you about basic construction safety before you arrive on your scheduled build day. The video covers the most common safety concerns found on our Habitat building sites. We want you to have a safe and productive experience with Watauga Habitat.
Directions to our current project:
GreenWood: Turn left onto HWY 194 from US HWY 421 South at the Hardees red light at New Market Center. Travel approximately 5.5 miles to right on Big Hill Road. After approximately 150 yards, turn into Green Valley Elementary School. Take an immediate left onto GreenWood Valley Drive. You have now entered our eco-friendly Habitat GreenWood Neighborhood. Follow the road up the hill until you see the children's playground on your left (Harris Park). We are building a home for the Greaves Family right across from Harris Park, on your left, on Ernie Jones Road. You can't miss it! Email Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jennifer at email@example.com or text 828-406-5831 if you have any questions.
If swinging a hammer is not part of your skill set, there are a wide variety of ways to support Habitat. We will strive to put your particular skills to use to accomplish our mission.
